13 June 2020. At De Kelk, Bruges. Shared with the lovely Anke! Cloudy black with a very thin, dark beige head. Aroma of prune, red grapes, cognac, port wine, wood, chocolate powder, vague varnish. Taste has sweet prune, red grape & sourish brambleberry, chocolatey & toasty maltiness with a powdery effect. Bitter chocolate chips & wood in the herbal-earthy hoppy finish, dried dark fruits & chocolate powder & warming cognac alcohol lingering. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Cognac works well here, not overdone.
