Bottle @ MBCC. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are malt, hops and has a sweet malty finish.

(Bottle) Pours clear golden with good white head. Aroma is part malty, part grainy, with a slight metallic edge. Light body, with good carbonation. Pleasantly malty, with some candy hints and the very slightest bitterness in finish. It’s better than the leading beers of many of the neighbouring countries, and quaffable, but it’s not great.

500ml bottle-@Tampa weekly shared by SHIG-pours a white head with yellow/gold color. Aroma is lemon/grass, euroskunk (lager), hay/light malt. Taste is lemon/grass hops, hay/light malt. Wow, from North Korea a quite drinkable beer.

Bottle: Picked this up at the DMZ. Straight from the first pop I thought this could be interesting. The flood of skunk cock filled the room. Poured a clear golden color with huge white foam head, that seemed to not stop. The aroma seemed of stale sour grain. The flavor and taste however was not bad as it had metallic grain and fresh grass, a little watery. Not bad for as little as there is from North Korea.

First of all, thanks to everyone who made this rating possible - Simon, Mark, Andre and of course Kim Jong-Il, who had the vision to purchase the Usher’s brewery to improve the Pyongyang beer scene.
Light amber colour. Faint whisp of head dies quickly. Industrial-sized bubbles. The aroma is clean, mainly biscuity pale malt. The flavour is fairly clean as well, still leaning towards the malt, though it’s not as expressive as in the aroma. The beer is fairly sweet and full-bodied. The hops are restricted to a background earthy note. Yes, it looks terrible, but its one of the most enjoyable pale lagers in its weight class.
