Clear brown beer, short lived bubbly pale tan head. Thin palate, mildly dry, reasonable fine carbonation. A pretty respectable chocolate vibe from the very thin dark malts, a little dark chocolate fudge. Whisper of cherry, walked through on stilts. A generic fruity ripeness on the back end. No idea why I bought this. 4.0 stouts are really not my bag because they are nearly always thin and boring. This one at least has a decent chocolate offering. Make this an Impy and I would gladly come back.

On keg at Brewdog Edinburgh. Appearance - opaque black with a nice off white head. Nose - creamy chocolate cake. Not sure re any cherry. Taste - this time can convince yourself that there is cherry but it's definitely chocolate cake again. Palate - creamy if a little thin, but decent length. Overall - quote low in ABV for a porter but not bad.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at Clapton Craft. Pours cola brown with a foamy, light khaki head. Nicely rounded, has some subtly bittersweet cocoa, cherry/berry accents, soft earthy bitterness. Light bodied with average carbonation. Light roasted malts in the finish, more dry cocoa and mild cherry notes. Drinks well. Straightforward but nothing wrong with that.
