Clean golden with a huge creamy white, long retention and thick foamy lacing clouds. Mild grassy, citrus hop aromas with oat hints. The taste shows the hops, more on the grassy side giving a touch of bitterness. Good dryness ensues. Orange notes lingers with the light oat that blend things. Quite a nice Imperial IPA that is a nice 6-pack to get on this Vermont trip 2023.

Can at home, from HOTM online, 08/10/23. Clear golden to light amber with a good sized lasting just off white head. Nose is orange zest, caramel malts, pine needle, old skool wafts, grass, ripe melon. Taste comprises bitter orange, grass, grapefruit, pine needle, melon, mango kiss, papaya, caramel, toasted grains. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with juicy come grassy hop bitterness allied to a balanced rising boost. Solid old skool leaning DIPA that sips fine for the 9% offered.

From a can. Pours a clear light copper with a substantial off white head. Aromas of pine and grapefruit. Flavors are bitter mixed citrus.

--Sample, thanks fonefan! -- Clear amber, small head. Alcohol, bready caramel and citrus up front. Sweet with medium to full body and rounded mouthfeel. Caramel, syrup and bread, some citrus. Piney warming finish.

On tap at P&P Charleston. Hazy orange with small white head. Aroma is tangy hops, medium body, medium carbonation, and little lacing. Taste tropical fruit hops and strong malt backbone.

Fairly light, but very crisp golden coloured body with a nice three to four centimetre tall off-white head that stays afloat nicely. Aroma of crisp grassy and very lemony, citrusey hops with a herbal and almost tea-like finish in the nose. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong grassy and very herbal flavours dominate with a light biscuity and malt component, but pretty nice and dry and hop-forward, but still somehow easy-ish drinking and full of bitterness from the hops. Aftertaste is pretty citrus-forward as well, with some grass, hay and light malt components here and an enjoyable finish of flowers and the bitterness from the fresh hops, while being easy-going. Overall, a pretty nice IPA that is bitter, dry, grassy and citrusey while not being too malt-heavy and quite easy-drinking for the style. Nice to sample and better than I was expecting here. I sampled this 19.2 ounce, TALL can, purchased from Tamura's Fine Wine in Kihei, Maui, Hawai`i on 08-April-2023 for US$3,29 sampled while looking at the waves crash over the rocks at my hotel here on the Hana-Maui Resort in Hana, Maui, Hawai`i on 09-April-2023, my last night here in Hawai`i this time.

12 oz. can, 9.0% ABV, PKGD: 01/30/23

AROMA: I'm first hit with moderately strong scents of tangerine, mango, and grapefruit. Which is then followed by mild scents of malt and bread. The aroma is really quite delectable!

APPEARANCE: Pours a clear, golden yellow with a very tall head that has a tight, white, froth that dissipates slowly with excellent lacing. Visually, this is a stunning beer.

TASTE: Moderately sweet with predominant flavors of tangerine and grapefruit, and milder flavors of apricot and malt. The finish is moderately sweet with just a hint of bitterness. To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of bitter beers, but I think this one could use a little more bitterness to help cut through the perceived sweetness level. And by that I mean, the actual level of sweetness is only moderate, but when combined with the ultra-slick texture I "feel" like the beer is much sweeter than it really is. So a little more bitterness would help to make for a more balanced experience.

MOUTHFEEL: Medium body with a very slick texture. This thing definitely has a "juicy" vibe to it. Carbonation seems about average. Normally, I really like beers with a slick texture, but this one seems too slick to me. It's so slick that I would almost describe it as "oily". Which is probably why I find it to be a little off-putting. I don't hate the texture, but I do find it to be odd.

OVERALL: Aroma and appearance are great, while taste and mouthfeel have a few issues that I'm not sure I can get past. Therefore, my current assessment is that I would not buy this again. Don't get me wrong, this is definitely a quality beer in every way. It's just that the combination of the sweetness level and the uber-slick texture seem to rub me the wrong way. I'm sure there are plenty of other people who would find those features to be assets. I'm just not one of them. However, I bought a 6-pack so the beer has 5 more chances to change my mind. And at 9% ABV it has a fighting chance! ;)

Sample (thanks fonefan!). Orangeish colour with a small white head. Aroma is fruity, some alcohol sweetness, floral, mild grainy and some grapefruit tones. Flavour is grapefruit, tropical fruits, mild toffee and some sweet alcohol as well as some grainy tones.
