Can from a local bottle shop. Aroma is heavy on the roasted malt with chocolate and some coffee. Flavour is moderate sweet with a robust bitterness. Medium to full body. I don't say this often but perhaps they should have toned down the bitterness slightly in favour of smooth drinkability. --- Beer merged from original tick of Ivan Infused on 01 Feb 2025 at 07:05 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7.5. Original review text: Can from a local bottle shop. Aroma is woody with roasted malt, armagnac, notes of dark chocolate and coffee, dried fruits, brandy, alcohol. Flavour is fairly bitter and light sweet with a mildly boozy finish. Medium to full body. Pretty good, a bit sharp, bold notes of oak in the aroma.

Can. Pours cloudy very dark brown with barely any head. Clear aroma of vine and yeast, with cardboard touches and malty hints. Bitter flavour of hops, roast, and alcohol, with notes of malt and dried fruit. Roasty and malty aftertaste, with papery touches. Warming alcohol presence. Decent, but rather boozy.

Can, 11%. Papery and vinous aroma, quite weak for the ABV. Black colour. Big stable light brown head. The flavour is roasted and bready with a rather distinct alcohol bitterness. Bready and bitter finish.

33cl Blik van van Erp. Zwarte kleur, beige kraag. Inkt, wat gebrande mout, veel drop zonder laurier, vrij harde smaken, wat caramel, bitter maar niet op een heel prettige manier, mist echt body en diepgang. Medium body.

33 cl can @ St. Mary's Park Aroma has cocoa and licorice. Flavour has salty licorice, herbal tones and mild cocoa tones. Tobacco and ash in the finish. Too salty for my taste but not bad anyway.
