One of the highlights of Japanese cuisine is the tea. And one of the most delicate and flavorful Asian teas is made using the jasmine petals, called Matsurika in Japan. We added these petals to the recipe of a Pilsen, a soft and delicate beer, bringing floral notes to the aroma and palate.

Fairly strong and distinct hay nose. Clear golden, thick head, decent lace. Malty hay, grass. Medium body, soft carbonation. Almost like a roggenbier, but a very nice pilsner.

Can. A clear deep golden beer with a white lacing. Aroma of mid sweet caramelized malt, biscuit, floral and spicy hops. Taste of biscuit malt, moderate bitterness, spices, floral hops, tea.

Can from Julios. Fine gold pour and nose is florals and grass. Tastes grassy, flowery, touch of honeydew and Asian pear, tea. Crisp. Something about flavors slightly doesn’t work. But still not bad.

Can from TapRm. Brewed by Great South Bay Brewery. Pours cloudy lemon yellow with very small frothy off-white head that goes flat fast, citrus aroma, high carbonation, medium bitter flowery malt taste, thin body, abrupt finish with faint jasmine aftertaste. Interesting brew.

Draught at EBF: pours good with white head. Aroma is faint maltiness. Taste is typical eurolager sweetness and grain. Not great.
