0.75 l bottle from one of the brewers. Slow gusher! A little hazy, golden with a medium large, quite fluffy, slowly diminishing, white head. Slightly sweetish, sourish, quite vinous-fruity and minimally funky aroma of white wine, gooseberry, lemon and a touch of hay. Minimally sweetish, quite sour, fairly vinous-fruity taste of white wine, quite some lemon, gooseberry, light vinegar and traces of glue, followed by a medium long, rather tart, dry, gently woody and minimally funky finish. Thin to medium body, quite astringent and rather effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Had the base beer, which was my favourite from Freigeist's beer-wine-hybrids, exactly a year ago, and it's a little smoother, drier and a bit more sophisticated now due to the champagne yeast. It's unfortunately a little glue-ish and vinegary, but only very moderately so, it doesn't really spoil the experience. I really dig it, suitable aperitif for New Year's Eve.
