Christoph Wolfrum aus Nürnberg wurde 2020 mit seinem American Pale Ale zum Gewinner unseres alljährlichen Hobbybrauerwettbewerbs gekürt. Er durfte einen Brautag in der Maisel & Friends Brauwerkstatt erleben, bei dem seine Bierkreation „Hoptimism“ auf unserem 25 Hektoliter-Sudwerk nachgebraut wurde. Der Heimbrauer und das Maisel-Team haben mit voller Spannung auf die ersten Feedbacks der Bier- und Genussblogger gewartet. Im Folgenden erfährst Du, wie die fruchtigen Aromen von Pfirsich, Ananas, Weintrauben und Kokos bei den Bierliebhabern angekommen sind.

0.33 l bottle from 'Craft Bier Bude', best before July 2021. Clear, amber with a medium large, frothy, stable, off-white head. Sweetish, rather fruity, gently floral and slightly resiny aroma of mango, orange peel, pine and some tangerine. Slightly sweet, moderately bitter, quite fruity and slightly resiny taste of mango, orange peel, tangerine, some pine and a touch of grains, followed by a short, gently bitter, slightly resiny finish. Medium body, slightly creamy and gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Really good Pale Ale, very aromatic and nicely bitter, has everything of a good IPA with less alcohol.

Fläschla: Deep Golden, almost clear, small stable and lacy white head, a bunch of different Tropical fruits in the mild to moderate bitter-sweet nose, Pale malt and presumably Wiener Malz underneath; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied, soft; lingering sweet-bitter fruity and mildly toasty finish. Well done, deserves the prize...
