100% NY malt & hops → 100% West Coast chronic! Straight outta the ‘90s and jam-packed with kushy lil’ buds of NY-grown Centennial, Copper, Cashmere, Chinook and Cascade hops. Notes of candied pineapple (think: Life Savers), citrus pith, and chewy pine resin. Bitter, dry finish. Strictly New York. Strictly CHRONIC.

Can @ Broadway Dive Bar, Manhattan (9/5/23). Pours faintly cloudy golden with a large foamy off-white head, sweet citrus aroma, adequate carbonation, medium bitter citrus peel taste with faint pineapple flavor, thin body, long bitter citrusy finish. Good flavors.

Super clear, but deep copper and bronze coloured body with a very large, five to six centimetre tall tan head that stays afloat nicely above the clear, but dark body. Aroma of fairly nutty, earthy and resinous hops with a big nutty and caramelised sugar scent from the malts with a little breadiness and yeast towards the end. Medium-bodied; Fairly crisp, grassy and herbal notes show at first with a light hoppiness and some soft sweetness with honey and subdued stone fruits, but the grassy, herbal and perfumey finish (not bitter at all, though) from the hops dominates. Aftertaste is pretty dry, floral, grassy and mild throughout - no deep sweetness, not a strong malt character and definitely no bitterness coming from the hops here. Overall, decent, but lacking a lot for the style and while I appreciate this as New York sourced beer, it just doesn't work - at least with this recipe. Nice to try, but if you have the option - get others from KCBC - this is passable, for sure. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 18-December-2021 for US$4,29, canned on 25-October-2021 and sampled at my house here in Washington on 11-February-2022.
