Bottle, 650 ml shared with Max, Miro B and Zec. Black with medium beige head. Malty chocolate, huge caramel, dried fruit, figs, raisins, bourbon, some dark fruit, cocoa, very smooth and complex. Full bodied.

Bottle from a trade with richiesd, thanks! Pours a clear chestnut brown colour with a small beige head that doesn't last long. Aroma's: bourbon, sweet, wood, a bit umami. Retronasal it's boozy, bourbon, sweet, toffee. Flavour is heavy sweet which makes it cover up the booziness. Rich, full bodied. Long finish. Sweet, but in a good way.

Great aroma, supersmooth, great Bourbon, toffee, caramel, cinnamon, this is way better as the 2000.

Wow this is a sugary booze bomb. Had a light gag reflex the way it happens with cheap whiskey. Caramel, toffee, syrup, molasses. You name the sweetness and it's here. Dark brown blackish pour with ok head. Super sweet boozy end. Tap at Library Alehouse.

Draught @ MBCC 2019 - Blue Session
Pours hazy brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, dried fruits, brown sugar, alcohol, vanilla and oak. Taste is heavy sweet and light to medium bitter with a long warm, sweet and brown sugar finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Good dark brown body and minimal foam, huge wet caramel and barley on the nose. Flavour is huge wet caramel and more chewy stuff. Full finish, but otherwise rather inefficient for the beer poured.

2019-05-30, bottle at Erik's, 8-4-8-4-16=40
Brown sugar and bourbon dominate; for tonight's moody, I find not enough complexity. Good boozy sugar syrup.
2019-04-18, Sergey's hunt, crowler, 8-4-9-4-17=42
Dark brown colour, Aroma of caramel, strong alcohol, strong bourbon. Full bodied, very sweet, but the strong alcohol makes the sweetness bearable; rich malt flavour, and strong bourbon, well integrated; overall it's a very powerful sweet bourbon ale, very clean, but not extremely complex. Great beer, anyway.

Pours copper to mahonie brown, bit lighter than their 2k. No real head. Smell is dried fruits, oak, mild bourbon. Caramel and figs. Taste is full, creamy, bourbon, sweeter than 2 K at this point side by side in 2020. Bit more on the fruity side as well, less figs, less complexity ( might also have to do with age, obviously ) . More accessible , but I doubt anyone not really knowing barleywine will get their hands on this one anyways. Thick body, lower carbo.

Poured from a 22 oz bottle. Aroma is Rich and full of tons of toffee, caramel, toasted bread and burnt sugar. Lots of plum, prune and rain notes. Light bourbon and oak with a bit of alcohol spice. Pours brown with a small, thin, tan head that recedes somewhat quickly and disappears. No lacing and medium sized legs. Flavor is rather sweet with lots of malt character and a medium light bitterness. Medium light alcohol spice with light bourbon and oak notes. Lots of toffee, caramel, burnt sugar and toasted breads with hints of chocolate. Quite a bit of fruity prune, plum, and raisin notes with lighter date and cherry. Mouthfeel is full bodied with low carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, a great, fun beer. Lots of malt and balanced fruit notes. Light barrel character adds some complexity. I wish the bottle had a bit more carbonation and I'm not sure how this will age with all the dark fruit already present.
