Bomber picked up at Fuggles, Richmond. Cracked with a little over a year of age in the cellar. Unique stout here, with a distinct rum and raisin, and an array of spices throughout. Jet black pour, plenty of tan loose foam. Rum and raisin with a chocolate and caramel note make this definitely on the sweeter side. Nice toasty, more bold chocolate note, and a bit of charred oak, sit underneath this rich combo of adjuncts. Overall, this is good, but I think I'd really like the base beer as it is.

Can. Black body, light brown head. The nose leads with roast, and the palate has roast and chocolate. It's got a molasses sweetness and harsh roasty character. Fairly bitter. I don't really get much in terms of rum-soaked raisins. I do get a strong oak character (it's french oak). If they're using rum, it seems like a cheap one.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Black colour, medium sized, compact, beige head. Aroma of dark malt and cacao. Smooth; strong cacao character, very light fruity touch (this could be the raisins); it's very roasty, it could be more palatable with a bit of additional sugar, and also some more raisins and rum would have added more complexity. As is, though, it's still quite good.

16oz on Alex's deck. Appearance: dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: some roasted malts, figs, raisins, sweet, rum notes. Taste: along the same lines, quite roasty and bitter aftertaste. Overall: not bad, but mostly nothing special. This one is in line with many other bitter and roasty examples from the brewery.

473 ml can. Pours black with fill tan head. Aromas of lactose and roasted malts. Possibly some rum. Not much flavour at first. Follows up with dry chocolate and roasted malts. Finishes with bitter roasted malts and alcohol

Good black body and modest beige foam. Nice chocolate syrup and molasses on the nose. Flavour brings out coffee, cocoa, chocolate mousse. Dry finish though it's all a little narrow and thin.

Poured from 650mL bottle (stamped 2021-01-07). Near black with solid tan head. Fairly light roast, oats, mild rum and raisin with... glue, lots of it. Not pleasant. Extremely disappointed.

473mL can, pours jet black with a small tan head. Nose brings out a sort of hearty oats character, with gentle rum and raisins, and a little roast. Flavour is rather harsh and chalky, with lots of glue, moderate roast, and boozy rum (like it was just poured into the keg). This isn't a complex stout—chaotic, harsh and lacking depth. Not so good.
