Brooklyn Pennant Pale Ale '55 is a classic English pale ale, brewed with the prized Maris Otter Malt and Fuggles, Willamette and Cascade hops. Maris Otter is an old malt variety that yields an incomparable biscuity flavor. Pennant is chesnut-colored, medium in body with a hearty malt palate and smooth hop finish. This beer is a tribute to Brooklyn’s world champion baseball team. (aka Brooklyn Ale)

(Draught) Poured golden and clear with medium sized and white head. Aroma was quite mild and containde hops and fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Tasted of malts, hops, grass, bitterness, fruitiness and hint of sweetness. Mild bitter aftertaste.

I didn’t find this beer to be particulary pale but I did it to be quite delicious nonetheless. Poured a light amber-red with a fine head and light lacing. Yeasty aroma with hops mixed in. Tasted bready, sweetly of caramel, a little fruity and just a tad bitter. Finished quite smooth.

Bottle. Medium amber body. Fizzy off-white head that slowly diminishes. Malty toast (slightly burnt) aroma with a hint of orange. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. It finishes lighlty sweet and lightly bitter. A slight acidic attertaste. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Smooth drinker though more hop presence would have been appreciated.

Location: 12 oz bottle, 3/22/13, as Pennant Ale
Aroma: The aroma is pretty malty, with caramel, a bit of bread, and some light hop notes
Appearance: This one pours a clean, clear, copper color with a lasting half inch off-white head
Flavor: The taste is medium sweet, heavy malty, with some buttery hints, and a little bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it has a fairly soft carbonation, and a bit of dryness on the finish
Overall Impression: It seemed like this one was in need of a re-rate, so when a few of these showed up in my fridge it made sense to update the rating. I'm not loving this one anymore. It gets a bit buttery, which makes it feel flawed. It's drinkable, and solid, but not great.

Overall Impression: I use to drink this one a lot a few years back, its a nice Pale, that is really easy to drink and still has a decent flavor, definitely a good choice if you are looking for something that's pretty simple but still has a decent flavor...

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a small frothy white head that leaves decent spotty lacing along the glass. The aroma is a light malt with raisin and caramel. The taste is a grain malt with a bit of citrus on the finish. Has more of an amber taste than an english pale ale but still decent from Brooklyn.

355 ml bottle as Pennant Ale 55. Clear reddish brown body with a small off-white head. Moderate aroma of sweet malt, caramel and a hint of fruity. Flavor is quite malty, sweet, caramel and a balanced light bitterness. Nice and easy.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pennant label. Pours a clear copper color with a large head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is toasted malts, with caramel and fruity notes. Some bitter hops as well. Taste is bitter, grassy hops with slightly toasted malts. Medium bodied.
