Brooklyn Pennant Pale Ale '55 is a classic English pale ale, brewed with the prized Maris Otter Malt and Fuggles, Willamette and Cascade hops. Maris Otter is an old malt variety that yields an incomparable biscuity flavor. Pennant is chesnut-colored, medium in body with a hearty malt palate and smooth hop finish. This beer is a tribute to Brooklyn’s world champion baseball team. (aka Brooklyn Ale)

Bottle as Pennant Ale ’55 from Vintage Cellar. Poured a slightly hazy amber with a minimal white head. Aromas of dust, lightly roasted caramel and some lightly spicy hop. Medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is lightly roasted malt, "biscuity" seems appropriate, and a very light bitter. Fairly tasty, but not all that exciting.

Mild spices, ratehr earthy, and some sweet malts in this English PA. I thought the earth tones were a bit overdone, but it is in the English style, so maybe it fits. This is OK, but I got tired of it pretty quick.

Bottle at Newark airport. Pour orange/amber with light white head. Aroma is malty and earthly yeast. Taste is malt / caramel, crisp and dry finish, hoppy leaving you with a pislner aftertaste. Drinkable but really nothing special about this beer.

12 oz. "Pennant Ale ’55," best by Oct. 08. Nice amber ale color, spongy tan head. Smell is of caramel malts. Taste is sharp with spicy, mostly English hop matched to crystal toasted malts. No ale-type esters, in fact this suggests some cold lagering. Bit of an alt profile toward the end.

12oz Pennant Ale bottle. Chestnut-amber color. Lots of fruity and warm fuggles hops coming through. Big, biscuity malt profile reminiscent of a good English ale. Good session beer with a smooth finish.

Pours a fairly dark amber color with a nice frothy white head, which lasts for a rather long time. Pretty bitchin’ aroma... hops. Bready, slightly metallic, some happy hoppy tastes in there too. Not really bitter. Some grassy taste in there too. A pretty good session.

12 oz bottle says Pennant Ale ’55; nose of light sweet vanilla and fruit; copper with a medium glass-lacing beige head; flavor is sweet caramel and a little vanilla; finish is sweet fading into a very light hop bitterness. Tastes kind of like some of the English beers I’ve had so if that is what they were trying for they suceeded.

Sampled as Pennant Ale. The beer is a bright orange-amber color with a medium thick fizzy head that burns off pretty quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. The aroma is bready malt with some hops thrown in. Medium-bodied with a sweet malt character at first, followed quickly by a moderate bitterness. Some sweet toffee is present as well, but overall this beer is pretty vanilla. The finish is piney hops with a shortlived sweetness on the back end. Average.

Caramel and honey aroma. Clear dark copper pour with a medium light tan head and good lacing. Singularly and strongly metalllic flavor. Faint hop finish that gets better during warming.
