This Old Ale was aged in sherry cask for one year with a house microflora. Bottled conditioned for a full 45 weeks. The result is a warm complexity with a tingling sweetness on the lips.

Thin body, sweet, boozy. Lots of raisins, sherry, pipe tobacco, finishes dry. Very nice.

Bottle shared in Watford - picked up from online shop somewhere. Pours slightly unclear amber with a small, creamy off-white head. Medium sweet flavour with mild acidity, tangy berries, a little salt, old wood, some subtle funk, background toffee, grape, brown sugar. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, further tangy berries, a little old barrel, soft funk, stewed apples. Great complexity, high drink ability for the strength. Excellent.

Bottle split at the 'fuck me it's Kenny; tasting, thanks to Leighton - Watford, 25/06/21. Almost clear amber with a light beige cap that dissipates to edgework. Nose is sweet malts, figgy jam, fruit slice, almond, sugars, mellow barrel. Taste comprises sugars, dried fruits, sultanas, sherry whisper, caramel, tangy fruits. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a kiss of alcohol at the curtain call. Decent.

25th June 2021 Tasting at Fergus gaff. Thanks to Leighton. Hazy amber beer, small pale tan head. Light and smooth palate, decent fine carbonation. Slightly tart fruitiness. Good marmalade. Little citric peel. Mild wood. Trace of sherry infused citric peel. Smooth finish. Unusual barleywine. Very much focused on a the bright ripe fruitiness. Not on the malts. Very drinkable.
