När tsarina Katarina II ville få stout till sitt hov på 1800-talet, fick bryggarna i England brygga en starkare stout som skulle klara resan till Sankt Petersburg. Vår Imperial Stout är mörk som midvinternatten och laddad med smak. För att nå en högra alkoholhalt har vi använt oss av stora mängde pale alt malt, havre, karamellmalt, svartmalt och rostat korn. Mörkt muscovadosocker kompletterar de karamelliga och rostade maltnoter med en diskret lakritston. Imperial stout har stor lagringspotential och är som bäst 3-5 år efter tappdatum.

Sample (thanks omhper!). Black colour, small brown head. Liquorice, some smoked tones, mild herbs and some earth. Flavour is liquorice, smoked tones, toassted, some berries and mild alcohol.

(Bottle, taster, Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival, 4 Dec 2021) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of black coffee, dark chocolate and liquorice. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, chocolate, liquorice, black bread, molasses and a balanced roasty bitterness. Almost full body, sweet. On the sweet side, but really rich and tasty. Very nice.

Delt med A-L. Svart. Høyt mokkafarget skum som daler sakte. God kaffearoma. Smaken portvin, sjokolade, kaffe & salt lakris. Tørr, lett bitter avslutning.

Bottle from Systembolaget beställningssortiment. Almost black with a small tan head. Licorice, coffee, dark malt, toffee and some dried fruit. Quite dry finish.

[ As Uppsala Brygghus Imperial Stout ].
ABV: 10.5%. ✅ Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, dark malt, sweet malt, dark fruit, chocolate. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light light bitter with a long duration, roasted, dark malt, dark fruit, sweet malt, light to moderate coffee - chocolate. Body is medium to medium full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming. [20210526]

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Near black, small head. Licorice, salmiak and coffee up front. Dryish with near full body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Slivovic, salmiak, toffee, muscovado sugar and licorice. Long bitter finish. Interesting dryish, peppery stout.
