This lager-style beer was brewed for the new home of Sakiškės - our new brewpub, bar, event and cultural space - the Smoke Factory, located at 5 Dumus St., Vilnius.
It is a light, yet malty lager with a slight hint of smoke. We have added a small amount of beechwood-smoked malt to the grain base, which in this case fuels the aroma fire.
We have also used a significant amount of German noble Bavarian Hallertau Mittelfruh hops, which add a very subtle aroma and flavour with dried flowers and field herbs.

Ingredients: water, malted barley, hops, yeast.

Can 33 cl. Pours a clear golden with a tiny, white head. Fat, bacony Bamberg smoke. Rich, sweet malty body with a brutal bitterness and then again massive smoke. No thanks. 030226

Golden colour and small white head. Light smoked, grainy nose. Light-bodied. Grainy and smokey. A bit sweet finish. Maybe not so Helles. At brewery taproom.

Suitsu väga ei saa, aga mõnusalt magus-mõru-kuiv-linnaseline laager on see küll.

330 ml bottle, online from Honestbrew. Pours hazed dark golden with a huge foamy head. Way overcarbed. Aroma: smoked malt, smoky bacon, some citrus, hay. Taste: light sweet & light to moderate bitter, semi-dry, beechwood smoked malts, light citrus zest. Medium body with foamy carbonation.

Bottle 33cl. @home poured into a shaker. Modest gusher. Cloudy pale amber colour, huge faomy off-white head, dissipating slowly and unevenly, patchy lacing. Aroma toasted and smoked malts, smoke, smoked meat, bacon, grainy notes. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, bit roast, smokey, smoked meat, spicy hops, grain, tetronasal smoke. Medium body, watery to oily texture, active carbonation, dry sweetbitter grainy aftertaste, some harshness, cardboard, dusty notes, has its shortcomings but okay.

330 ml bottle. Unclear dark golden, huge fluffy head. Smoked malt, oak, smoked black forest ham, citrus notes and grapefruit zest, hay and hops. Hoppy zesty bitterness, umami. Medium bodied, oily texture, fizzy carbonated, dry bitter smoked finish, really nice crisp / smoked Helles, too bad it has that much carbonation.

Smokey, intense woody smoked beginning. The beer is grainy neutral in the back, typical grainy Helles with a punch of great woody smoke on top. Fast fading with grainy smoked parts in the aftertaste. A very nice result in mixing these styles.
