Draught at Brown Iron, 6/8/24. Clear dark mahogany. Small, light-tan head, quickly to ring. Nose is heavily charred oak with spicy whiskey character and brown sugar behind it. Lots of maple. Both fermented and not, adding sugar and spice. Not boozey. In the mouth it's quite on the thin side. Quite sweet. Whiskey is charred and interesting, not overdone or too tannic. But the maple, as usual, adds an adjunct sweetness and thins the body while adding alcohol. I continue to greatly dislike maple as an adjunct.

Bottle from Holiday Market. Pours a deep brown to black with medium to high viscosity and a small brown head that dissipates. Lots of whiskey aromas on the nose with oak, chestnut and vanilla aromas. Maple comes through on the palate with more wet oak and whiskey notes. Whiskey clearly sits next to the beer base and speaks loudly but still works in harmony. Very fun beer.
