Defying Gravity is a 4.5% Sabro, Citra & Mosaic Pale Ale, Brewed with our friends at the Grumpy Goat in Reading to celebrate the launch of their new shop, and just about getting through 2020.

Pours pale yellow with punchy, dominant citrus zest on the nose with the Sabro hops bringing background notes of coconut, with stone fruits and citrus. Light on the palate with a crisp, moreish and slightly bitter finish.

The name is inspired by the brave and daring Rocky Mountain Goats of North America, who climb near vertical sheer cliff faces. It’s a nod of course to the love of goats; to taking leaps and braving scary jumps. Oh and there’s a little bit of Musical Theatre in there too…. just because.

Can ordered from the brewery. Aroma combines light citrus with coconut. Grassy edge. Hazy pale gold. Frothy fluffy white head. Initial tangy citrus sourness with a light-medium bitter follow-up. Coconut sweet edge for the duration. Light-medium. Slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Enjoyable. Sessionable for sure. Makes the most of the Sabro without pushing it.

Can at home, 15th December 2020, as it happens this is the day that Grumpy Goat celebrates their 7th anniversary, so it’s perfect. The beer pours a light hazy yellow, aroma is coconut, citrus and tropical. Taste is clean, very sessionable, coconut, tropical fruit. It’s really well balanced and enjoyable
