Vintage 2020 is a lightly sparkling, full-bodied, medium dry cider. Slowly matured and softly rounded, the depth of character comes from apples such as Dabinett and Prince William for their rich soft tannins, Somerset Redstreak for its peppery notes, and a touch of the Gala dessert apple for its distinctive fruity aroma.

Bottle from local One Stop. Pours clear gold with roaring carbonation and brief fizzy head. Aroma of apple skins, wood, sugars. Taste of fruity apple, skins, wood, slightly bittersweet but subtle, medium dry finish, slightly warming going down but hides alcohol well. Light bodied but the carbonation pushes the flavours around the palate well meaning it has a refreshing quality and yet is still flavoursome. Nice cider.

Bottle (as Vintage Pick of the Year 2020). Yellowish golden colour with a minor white head. Aroma is sweet apples, some vanilla, wood and mild tartish tones. Flavour is apples, some vanilla, mild wood and some dry acidic green apple skins too. Somewhat dry.

Bottle from Hidden Dram. Bright, glowing gold with a thick head. Tart apple, lemon, touch of sulfur. Rather sweet, then bitter, leather, oak, touch of vanilla cream, alcohol punch. Soft, silky, creamy body. Altogether soft and easy, with a tannic edge to it.

First rake of '22 ... bottle at home, from the local Co-Op in the 'mere, 01/01/22. Clear golden to light copper with a fast collapsing head of white bubbles. Nose is s weet apple, caramel, sugar dusting, light orchard wood. Taste comprises apple peel, sugars, tannins, straw, apple pie. Medium bodied, light spritzy carbonation, some dryness in the close. Decent enough cider if no wow factor involved ... perhaps a touch on the sweet side for my liking.

Clear dark yellow colour with no head. It's a fairly sweet flavour. Low on tannin and low on acidity. Very soft and floral. Ok but misses some depth.

Bottle from Sainsbury's Supermarket, Blackley. Golden with a light carbonation. Its apple has a pronounced flavour but is also very soft, so it feels very pleasant in the palate.

Bottle. Golden, thin, white, head, and plenty of fizz. A bit thin bodied. sweetish apple juice, a touch of woody tartness in the background, with a medium dry finish. Ok.

500ml bottle from local Onestop store. Sparkling, golden colour, white foam head and aroma of fruity apple, woody hint. Taste is tangy, fruity apple, some creamy vanilla, oak, and woody drying tannin. Medium bodied, fine foamy carbonation, medium-dry mellow tannic finish. Quite drinkable.
