A sublime modern take on a traditional Scottish style, our malt forward Heavy is definitely not your Dad’s 80/-, with the addition of the Bramling Cross hop giving it a slight bite to the finish of this rich and balanced beer.

Best Enjoyed: On cask alongside a tasty game pie or cured meat and cheese board.

Must be for the Scottish side of the Cross Border brewery clientele. Traditional ale, called 'Heavy' but is name only, this is pretty easy to drink with malty notes at the Brass Monkey in Edinburgh.

Tap at Borefts 2019: Hazy dark amber colored brew with an sweet bitter taste, hints of caramel, toasted malts and nuts. Resembles to me Speciale Belge beers from Belgium.

Hard to judge this one properly as the can exploded and and at least half was lost. But... appearance is clear amber, with no head (although there probably would’ve been one). Aroma is malt, raisin, toffee, caramel, berry fruits. Taste is malty, dark fruits, nutty, toffee, lots of biscuity malt. Good bitter.

Sampled at Borefts Beer Festival 2019, day 2. Hazy rusty orange color, small white head. Smell and taste malts, a bit metallic bitter, grainy perhaps. Not much to it really.

Clear dark orange to amber beer, solid creamy beige head, stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very malty, lots of grains, hay, dry, bit grassy. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very malty, grains, hay, cow fodder, soft roast, some caramel, bitter and dry. Aftertaste: hoppy, dry, pretty metallic, nothing sweet anymore.
