Tap at Frisches Bier. Nice bready toasted aroma, light grassy Hops. Cloudy amber brown, golden head. Medium to full, chewy foamy body. Light roast, broad toasted malt with a lovely grassy and citric hop profile. Mellow sponge cake finish. Very pleasant.

Many thanks to Erzengel for sharing! A clear orange brown colour with a small most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of caramelish malt, mild sweetness, nuts, medium bitterness. Taste of caramelish malt, nuts, dark malt, earth, spicy bitter hops, okay!

330ml bottle. Clear, dark copper-ish, nutbrown colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Slightly toasty, minimally nutty, malty aroma, grassy hoppy overtones. Taste is minimally sweet, caramel malty, minimally toasty and nutty, slightly bitter and minimally fruity hoppy overtones, cautious hints red currant; smooth and super-soft palate, prickling carbonation. Nice.

33cl bottle from Holy Craft, Düsseldorf. Nice intense bitter beginning. The beer is round and malty, rich and deep, moderate malty. Very dry with a nice intense bitterness, sessionable on an intense bitter malty dry aftertaste. Great Alt.

(unique bottle, 33cl) Slightly hazy, amber colour with a thick and off-white foamy head. Mildly dark malty aroma with notes of cacao powder, toffee and herbal hoppy spice. Moderately bitter and slightly sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a crisp carbonation. Dry, dark and toasted malty base with hints of toffee, traces of chocolate and present herbal hops; a tad slim bitter-sweet herbal hoppy finish with traces of chocolate in the aftertaste. Surely clean and drinkable, but also nothing special by Rhineland standards. 05.IX.17

Fläschchen:Amber coloured, almost clear, smaller - quite stable - loose head; sweetish malty-fruity nose, small amount of toasty-chocolatey malt underneath, molecular traces of herbal hops detectable; drier bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied and pretty soft; lingering sweet-bitter toasty and herbal- hoppy finish. A bit on the sweet side, but all in all a well drinkable Old...

0.33 l bottle from ’Holy Craft Beer Store’, best before October 2017. Clear, dark brownish amber with a thin, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty, ’green’ and a bit grassy-spicy aroma of caramel, toasted nuts, chocolate and marzipan. Just slightly sweetish, quite bitter, roasty-malty, ’green’ and a bit grassy-spicy taste of caramel, chocolate, toasted nuts and some straw, followed by a medium long, rather dry-bitter, grassy and roasty finish. Almost medium-bodied, fairly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Tastes more like a Dunkel, feels too young, not the most enjoyable ’Alt’ I’ve had so far and definitely not worth its price tag. Overall a decent beer, but just miles behind the classics from Düsseldorf.

Fruchtig herber Beginn mit deiner Malzigkeit. Schnell gering bitter werdend, karamellig. Harmonisch, die Malzigkeit wird zum Ende hin intensiver. Gutes süßliches Alt! 12/11/12/12//12
