Bottle at home shared with Laura. Opaque black color, brown head. Aroma is malts, light tar, very dark bitter-ish somehow. Flavor is malts, dark malts, quite some roast and tar with dark malt bbitterness. Alright but a bit one dimensional.

Bottle. Color: Black, quite large light brown head. Aroma: Roasted malt, cocoa, chocolate. Taste: Quite smooth and dense mouthfeel, roasted malt, cocoa, chocolate. Some licorice. Very subtle fruity notes of raspberry, blueberry and some strawberry. Over medium body, below average finish. Bitter and dry-ish roasted malt finish. Finally a pure 'old style' Imperial Stout again. English style, no modern adjuncts. Commendable. Nice one.

On tap at Proeflokaal Arendsnest, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out medium roasted malt, with a touch of cocoa and plenty of hops. Flavour is pretty mellow for an impie - there's obvious body and gravity to this, with plenty of roasted malt, light espresso, light cocoa, and earthy hops. Quite boozy. Not the most elegant impie stout, but it's solid.
