Can from Beer52. Pours near black with nice dark beige head. Aroma of dark malt, sweet toffee, light molasses, bread crust, a slight herbal element. Taste of roasted malt, coffee, some chocolate, aniseed, Mid-bodied, drying, slightly cloying. Decent porter overall.

Can from Beer52 brewed/canned by Full circle. It pours darkest brown to black with a decent brown head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, chocolate bourbons and some toasted pine. The taste is dry, bitter, dark roasted malt, coffee grounds, dark chocolate, charred pine, burnt toast, touch of spice and tannin with a drying, roasty finish. Medium body and moderate fluffy carbonation. Robust and satisfying. Good stuff.

[33cl can from Beer52, brewed and canned by Full Circle.] A glossy black pour with a fast fading beige head; malty aroma with a little smoke; rather thin in the mouth with an immediate bitterness and a coffee taste; then a fruity coffee finish. Unusual.

Why are you scots adding this as a Saison? I guess I’ve heard of black Saison so I’ll assume this is one. Brown pour. Nose is herbs and barnyard and plenty of cocoa bean. Tastes of caramel, chocolate, farmyard, resin, hint of pine. Dry finish. Lightly chalky roasty as well.

Stella: It's shit heads like you that ruin everything (Craig added this) Anyway. Pours hazy brown with a thin beige head. Taste is chocolate and booze. Earthy. Not a saison, obviously.
