We've joined up with our friends from Virginia's House of Stout, Commonwealth Brewing Company, to create a bourbon barrel-aged biscotti-inspired beer!

Built on a crispy chocolate malt base with hazelnut flour for a nuanced depth of flavor, this beer celebrates the more austere side of the pasty stout spectrum with savory undertones of softly bitter Baker's chocolate and subtle raisiny sweetness with a dry, lingering finish.

--Bottled. -- Viscous black, no head. Cakey chocolate sauce aroma with some warming wood. Very sweet with viscous syrupy mouthfeel. Chocolate brownie with caramel and extra chocolate sauce, distinct notes of bourbon. Warming finish. Might be a pretty decent pastry stout, but still one dimensional and syrupy.

Thick looking dark blackish brown. Smells sweet, chocolate, bourbon, light hazel. Smooth body, but still a bit boozy. Taste is rich, sweet, decadent. Lots of hazelnut, and a nice amount of cacao. Bourbon is there, but not overdone. Tasty, but too hot.
