While not a formally adopted measurement, the banana equivalent dose remains a concise way to inform the public about relative radiation risks.
Our #EquivalentDose is a Chocolate Covered Banana-inspired Imperial Stout that was fermented with Arizona Cactus Honey before aging for nearly two years in a combination of bourbon barrels and ex-bourbon barrels that most recently held some of Superstition Meadery's world-class mead.
Post-barrel, this liquid was blended with an intensely potent small-batch beer built on our pilot system with mountains of real bananas for an utterly radiant fruit flavor. To complete the concept, we sent the full volume through a filter bed full of sweet, earthy cacao nibs for a decadent, chocolate-covered finish.

Opaque, Pitch-Black Color, Thin Layer of Mocha Color Bubbles, Fizzle Away Quickly, No Lacing. Sweet, Sugary, Boozy Aroma. Sweet, Sugary, Warming Alcohol Sting. Sweet, Sugary, Long Lasting Warming Alcohol Sting Aftertaste. Smooth. Easy Going For ABV. Held On To It For Too Long, So No Banana or Cacao Flavors... Good. Enjoyed It. Recommended...

Bottle pour shared by AirForceHops--thanks, Chris! Opaque, inky black w/no head, no sparkle, nice viscosity. Aroma is strong ripe (brown?) banana over lesser bourbon, cacao nibs, hint of mead. Taste initial strong bourbon, transitions to banana (esp as it warms) cacao nibs, late honey/mead. Smooth, thick texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Well done.

500 ml bottle. 2023 vintage. Aroma is huge ripe banana dipped in bourbon. The flavor has the banana in spades! Banana slices dipped in bourbon. Flavor of banana and bourbon are balanced and equal parts. With a very mild warming after the sip. Awesome!! Easily, the best imperial stout with banana I’ve ever had. Hands down!

500ml (thx, Kump!) @ Black Christmas 2023 at Heritage Hall. Vintage 2023. Appearance: dark brown with no head. Aroma: American oak, chocolate, some bananas maybe. Taste: along the same lines, almost no bananas. Overall: very good.

On tap at Bottle Logic, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma is decadent, with lots of banana, mead, chocolate and bourbon in a curious but seemingly cohesive mix. Flavour is very unusual, with intense banana, syrupy mead-like notes, dark sugars, bourbon, and light cocoa. Rich, decadent, with tons of banana and burnt sugars on the finish. Unusual but tasty.

Amazing stuff, just how I like my bananas. Heavy, thick and rich. Pretty sweet, but not overly so. Bourbon, chocolate and candy bananas. Honey is pretty subtle, all in all great balance for so many things. Amazing

Bottle shared. Thanks Josh! Pours a pitch black with a half finger of brown head. Huge banana aromas with dark chocolate and bourbon all present. Smooth and thick on the palate with more creamy banana laffy taffy notes with bourbon, honey and cacao. Smooth finish with bourbon and banana brownies. Ridiculously good.

Bottle pours out black topped with a tan head. Nose is great chocolate over ripe banana spice coffee and bourbon barrel goodness. Taste is more of the nice sweet chocolate banana bread light spice so good.
