Foamy tan head left a creamy cover on a dark brown body. Coffee, malt & berry aroma. Medium bodied, smooth on the tongue with a lively cloying back. Coffee, malt, bitter, roasted & acrid tastes with nicely hopped tangy finish. Good one.

Black beer, thick foamy head. Smells.of malt and sugar. it's lively. Flavour has toasty malt, a strong chocolatey hit, some brown sugar, a bit of hop, a dash of coffee in the finish. A bit of tangy fruit sweetness too. Rich and a good balance of strong flavours. Very nice.

Bottle ordered from Suds and Soda, Derby. Aroma is malty, chocolate, sour. But the latter mixes with the others for a not entirely pleasant sour milk effect. Dark. Inky. Foamy beige head. Medium-heavy bitter, with a sour edge. Black coffee and berries. Underlying burnt caramel sweetness is well hidden but there. Light-medium bodied. Thin cream. Average-fizzy prickly carbonation. Enjoyable if not overly exciting.

330ml bottle bought from the Offie, Leicester and drunk at home. Chocolate brown, slightly translucent with a tiny ring of beige/khaki head. Sweet coffee, black grape, plum, charcoal and white pepper on the nose. Tastes incredible. Initially sweet with spicy coffee to the fore, with a lovely hop bitterness leading to the finish. More grape and lots of black coffee in the aftertaste. Full body with heavy carbonation. Intense and absolutely gorgeous.
