This strong brown ale is brewed to a 19th century recipe and fermented in traditional open vats. A blend of premium ale malts and the finest of English hops combine to produce a fruity and complex character.

Copenhagen Beer Festival, 2011. Pours amber with a small creamy white head and lacings. Butter, bread and berries. Vaguely oxidized. A bit thin body . .

Copper with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of fruit, plum, toffee and a it of diacetyl. Sweet fruity flavour with a moderately hoppy finish

Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival. Loads of beers shared with ChrisO and Harrisoni - Cheers! Dark brown beer, no head. A light touch of dark malt. A trace of fruit. Dry finish. Okay but really standard stuff.

Cask @ Bon Accord. Dark ruby red colour, off-white head. Aroma is light malted, fruity and sour. Flavour is slightly sour, fruity, bit of caramel.

500 ml bottle, from Voldby Kรธbmandsgรฅrd, Denmark. ABV is 5%. Fairly dark brown colour, big beige head. Nice aroma of lightly toasted malts, caramel and dark fruits. The flavour is malty with notes of brown bread and caramel. Some fruity hints too, low bitterness but not completely void of hops. Decent enough.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a huge brown head. The aroma has notes of malt, toffee, and a bit of nuts. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel as well as lighter notes of nuts and metal, leading to a bitter finish. The body is light.

A dark brown beer. Smooth and a little creamy. Subtle chocolate and a lot of malt. No bitterness. Easy drinking.
