Ongekoeld uit de voorraadkast. Donker maar bosbesfruitig van kleur. Eiken, leer, bessenjam, bruine mout, zuur en lak. Zwaar en vol met lichte bruis.

Sensory Session #36: Opaque, reddish-brownish color and a small pinky head. Don't enjoy it too cold. Nose of bkueberrues, vinous, balsamico, sweetish. Fruity Taste of blueberries, old red/port wine, balsamico, tannin. Rather short finish.

Bottle shared. Hazy deep purple with small off white head. Red wine, blueberries, sweet malts, figs, blackberries, dry leaves, dry oak, alcohol, rye bread. Medium sour, lighter bitter and sweet. Medium bodied, slightly dry. Tasty!

One of Alvinne’s Fellowship beers of last year, a variation on their old Sour’ire de Mortagne, with blueberries. Irregularly bubbled, opening, lilac head, dark wine red robe with purplish glow. Aroma of blueberry wine and fresh blueberry juice, wet oak wood ‘vanilla’, brown bread, dry red wine, raspberry vinegar, fresh fig, dust, almond, prune. Juicy onset, very fleshy and convincing blueberry with a sweetish fructose core dried by fruit and lactic acidity, hints of blackberries and cooked plum, medium carb with full mouthfeel; bready core soaked in a tart blueberry wine effect, the blueberry factor enhanced by blueberry skins and seeds adding tannins which work well with the woodiness in the end – but that fleshy fruitiness remains key here till the last drop, highlighted by warming, port-like alcohol. The wood lingers about in the end too. Rich, deep, tart but juicy – a complex fruit beer ‘de dégustation’, worthy of the Fellowship project. Beautiful!
