Winter Warmer is the definitive winter beer and is a long-time Young’s favourite. A previous champion cask beer and Gold Medal Winner at the Brewing Industry International Awards, Winter Warmer is an essential beer during the winter months.

Winter Warmer is 100% malt brew, with Maris Otter and Crystal malt combining Fuggle and Golding hops. Young’s unique cane sugar mix is added to the copper during the brewing process.

A welcome sight on the bar during the winter months, Winter Warmer is the ideal beer to cosy up with in front of a pub fire on a cold winter’s night.

Cask at Bunch of Grapes, Borough. Aroma is rich and malty..clear chestnut. Thick foamy off-white head. Medium bitter with dark berries, herbs and underlying molasses. Medium. Slick. Sticky. Average carbonation. Long astringent finish. Decent.

Clear amber/copper pour with a white head. Aromas, of dried fruit, cake, milk chocolate/caramel. Taste at red berries, dried fruit - very nice and complex for an ale

Absolutely nothing like the beer I used to love in the late 70s. Inexplicably tastes of licorice

From cask at Duke of Wellington in Portabello Road 12.11.22. Clear dark copper. Dense and persistent beige head. Fine aroma and taste of brittle, roasted malt, dried berries and sap. Good!

Never had a winter warmer in cask before. A bit less boozy and “warming” than a bottled/draft winter warmer it seems.

Deep dark brown color with some orange tones. Small head. Malty aroma with a hint of cinnamon. Malty with some roasted bitterness, caramel and cinnamon. Warming, in spite of its modest alcohol content. Buttery, bitter finish.

Not really exciting. Not really a strong ale either. Deep nutty color with a fine off white head. Ok lacing. Moderate intensity in the aroma. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Soft carbonation level. Toffee, nutty, malty and some spices in the flavor. A bit thin body.
