On the 30th of March 2018, we brewed a fully barley malt beer wort, with pilsner, pale ale, cara and roasted chocolate malt. We left this beer to age for almost two years on oak barrels. Prior to bottling, we blended the beer with some young lambik. Nocturne is our take on a Vlaams Oud Bruin – a Vlaams-Brabants Oud Bruin if you will. This beer is fully spontaneously fermented and all natural without any addition of caramel sweetener or colouring. (yet, #notlambic)

White muselet instead of grey, oops :)

Bottle. Surprisingly clear dark amber color with no head. Aroma is chocolate, cherry, nice vineous funk. Taste is dry, but not too dry, good fruits. Oily mouthfeel, low carbonation, nice!

Pours dark copperbrown. No real head. Scent is mild, somewhat fruity almost. Medium lambic funk, not at all roasty, toasty or anything alike. Taste is full, sharp, dry, tart, oak. Not as fruity here, but still not toasty / roasty either. Slight caramel, but not at all sweet. Pretty decent ! higher carbo, bit drying. Medium intence lambic back.

A 3F nonbic, for a change, fun stuff. Looks a slightly unpleasant murky brown, smells a bit earthy sour, but the taste is pretty damn good. Sour, oaky, some light sweetness, and very earthy. Missing some complexity, but nice.
