GUSHER ALERT!
Clear dark brown beer, big fizzy irregular beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: very roasted, chocolate, bit spicy, malty, little funky, ripe banana. MF: very lively carbon, medium body. Taste: malty start, nice roast, bitter, bit sourish, some cherries, hint of banana, cola notes, some alcohol. Aftertaste: fruity, some cherries, cola, nice acidity, good roast, some alcohol, bit sweet, lots of chocolate, some coffee, bit chemical, bit of overripe banana.

Thanks to a friendly bottle shop in Aalborg, I am able to bring home and sample this 440 ml can of Cherries In Black. A minimalist label and black top, I like that. I pour into my Cowtown snifter to see a motor oil-like, jet black liquid topped by a billowing head of fine, mahogany colored foam that promptly disperses. I smell and get grain, red fruit and a whiff of coal. The taste is a bit unexpected, I find ash, licorice, bitter cherry, cola and dark bread. Actually it improves as it heats up. Worth the effort.

150ml draught at Skaal. Almost black in the glass, beige head, spotty lacing. Inviting smell of dark berries and chocolate malts. well blended taste of cherries and dark malts, moments of chocolate and liquorice. Lingering malt-berry finish. Like it, fine depth. (Copenhagen 09.05.2019).
