Es ist naturbelassen und unfiltriert. Im Gegensatz zu vielen seiner “Artgenossen” ist es nicht nicht so malzig und damit nicht so süß.

Frothy off white head stayed on a cloudy caramel coloured body. Spiced fruit & bready aroma. Medium bodied, smooth over the tongue with a lighter clean back. Malt, toffee, spiced fruit & tangy hoppy tastes. Easy drinker.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours lightly unclear deep golden-brown with a modest, frothy off-white head. Medium sweet flavour with rich bready malts, nips of dough, brown sugar, hints of toffee. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with notes if lightly toasted biscuits, more bread, brown sugar and toffee accents, minimal bitterness. Really tasty.

Bottle at home, by the fire, 6th December 2020. Pours a light copper high carbonated beer, big frothy head. Aroma is malty, caramel. Taste is light caramel, malty, some grass and hay, earthy, sweet and then a little nutty, burnt sugar, and light bitter. Good depth of flavour, nice keller

Bottle from HoTM. It pours hazy chestnut brown with a frothy off-white head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, toasty, cacao, nutty, dried fruits, earth and fruit cake. The taste is dry, toasty, nutty, earth, spice, wood, cacao, cereal, touch of pithy citrus, light dried fruits and grass with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Decent malty lager action.

Bottle from 'The Trembling Madness'. Pours a murky dark amber colour with a reddish hue and a large throthy off-white head. Aromas of grains, toasty bread and caramel. Taste is the same notes again with some added nuts and brown sugar.. Full body, average carbonation with a slightly oily mouthfeel. Very nice tasty Keller.

Pours dark amber to light red, semi-hazy. A couple of fingers of a dense and stable slightly off-white head. Good persistence and excellent lacing. Quite vivid and well defined/clean aroma shows caramel and nutty malts, ripe red fruits and a kind of tea-like/leafy hop bitterness. Smells like autumn. Taste notes follow the aroma closely, perhaps in a slightly less impressive but still good intensity and definition. Overall this is medium to high sweet and medium bitter, with a slight sweet edge in the mouth and a balanced, semi-dry finish, with a leafy hops aftertaste. Light to medium bodied with low to medium, fine carbonation. Feels quite smooth but also kind of creamy/soft. A very good beer.
Update march 2025: had it a couple of times after the first review and it felt much less impressive. Still very much an easy drinker as per style, not that creamy or soft. A little rough around the edges. Taste notes still more or less as per original review.
