For Free Surface IPA we started with a grist of extra pale, oats and chit for a light, soft malt profile with plenty of body. We then whirlpooled with Moutere and dry hopped with Mosaic, Enigma, Ella, Chinook & HBC472 for an IPA that strikes a balance between dank and bright tropical aromatics.

Can bought at Dove Street Inn, Ipswich. Aroma has sweet and tangy stone fruit. Slightly woody edge. Hazy golden brown. Biiiggg fluffy foamy white head. Light-medium fruity flava - stone fruit. Then develops a resinous streak, which again is not overly strong. But it is like licking wood. Citrus bitterness to boot. I haven't licked those. Sherbert. Medium bodied. Slick Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. A few months old now... perhaps faded in that it is pleasent but low impact.

Keg at Trekkers, Chesham, Bucks. A hazy golden/yellow coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, citrus, orange, grapefruit, some tropical fruit taste and aroma. Quite bitter but decent enough.

Draught Medium, very dense, lightly yellowish head over fully hazy but bright orange beer. Citrus, orange - looks like orangejuice and smells like it. Bit of ureum, warming up straw. Bitter, bitter orange, kumquat, asafoetida. Finish sports a lot of hopresins, making the MF finish indeed oily-resiny. Light to medium carbonation (if invisible), quite slick, protein filled. Bit lifeless, but agreable.
