Mit diesem Bier erleben Sie ein Jahrhundertereignis. Der 1. Sud ist das erste Bier, das im neuen Sudhaus gebraut wurde. In Hofstetten fand das zuletzt durch Heinrich Krammer im Jahr 1929 statt. 2015 wurde von Peter Krammer ein neues Sudhaus errichtet und zu diesem feierlichen Anlass ein helles, gut gehopftes Starkbier als 1. Sud eingebraut. Um einen Teil dieses Sudes für die Nachwelt zu erhalten, wurde es zu einem kräftigen Eisbock ausgefroren, und anschließend mit Mühlviertler Aurora und Bayerischem Mandarina Bavaria hopfengestopft.

Bottle 330ml. @ home.[ As Hofstettner 1. Sud G'froren's ].Clear medium orange yellow colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, bread, oxidide, caramel, - sweet malt, rich malt, fruity malt - fried fruit. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, sweet malt, bread, sweet malt - caramel, dried fruit - fruity malt, rich malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20190628] 7-3-7-3-15

Bottle. Clear golden color with white head. Aroma is candied fruit, orange juice, sugar icing. Taste is orange juice, candied fruit, rather sweet and syrupy, but quite balanced. Oily mouthfeel with natural carbonation. Good one!

Bottle at Biergreissler for RBVG 2018. Clear bright golden color fluffy white head that settles quickly. Fruity caramel aroma. Taste is lightly burnt butterscotch. Decent.

Aroma of vegetables, cereals, flowers, honey, some dried fruits, some bread.
Tastes of honey, flowers, bread, dried fruits, some citrus, some booze.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes medium sweet, moderate boozy, a bit hoppy, a bit floral.
Nice one, while nothing special. The nose is a bit weird, feels unbalanced, taste is OK while not very different to a regular Bock. Not my favourite one from this series.

0,33l bottle at Linz Tasting shared by Geiserich, big thanks. BB 12/2029. yellow cloudy color, small white head. smells of fish, spices, herbal, peppers. ok smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of dill, spices, some resin, peppery, light caramel, light alcohol. finishes lightly bitter with notes of spices, resin and peppery notes. OK but not overly exciting. Bit weird overall.
