Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is caramel, dark malt, bourbon, some wood. Flavour is sweet with a moderate bitterness. Body is medium sweet and mild bitter. Body is medium. Good stuff, bourbon, some roast, firm flavour.

Can at home. Pours black, nose is chocolate, fudge, vanilla, light apple, taste is chewy, chocolate, caramel, woody, toffee, vanilla.

Can from Beerdome. Black with a brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, whisky and light glue. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish with warming alcohol. Oily. 020421

0.33 l can from 'Sterk Avondverkoop', best before April 2024. Pitch black with a thin, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, a little fruity aroma of praline, bourbon, vanilla and some coffee. Rather sweet, malty, gently roasty, a bit fruity taste of praline, coffee, licorice, hazelnut, quite some bourbon, traces if green apple and a touch of vanilla, followed by a long, quite roasty-bitter, slightly earthy, moderately boozy finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Again a very intense BA beer from Kees, really heavy on the barrel, but since it's Heaven Hill it's not much of an issue.
