Bottle from Hoptimism. Roasted malty sweet to roasted bitter. But it’s the hint of ginger warmth that’s so subtle but at the same time makes the beer.

Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is chocolate, liquorice, burnt malts, caramel, meaty, taste is similar, very subtle ginger.

Bottle picked up from Hoptimism website Loughborough Leicestershire UK. Consumed at home Wednesday 23rd December 2020, we had Mexican Meatballs for tea tonight. Pours black with an off white head. This is very, very similar to the mettle but obviously with the addition of ginger, do think easy drinking for the abv, smooth, really super vindulgent, rich, coffee, chocolate. The ginger is subtle, lends a little spicey warming but otherwise the excellent base beer is more noted here than in the mettle. Very nice.
