To celebrate the harvest season, we are excited to offer our interpretation of “graff,” a relatively obscure beer-cider hyrbrid. Harvest Graff is a blend of sour blond and red ales aged in wine and bourbon barrels for up to two years, then naturally fermented with raw juice from Northwest-grown apples and lightly infused with a blend of spices.

On tap at Cascade, pours a clear dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out tart red apple skins, some vinous notes, and gentle Christmas spices. Flavour is interesting, with Christmas spices, tart red apple skins, and vinous notes. Lots of dry apple skins on the finish. Good stuff.

Deep dark reddish brown, very clear, with a slightly brownish dense head. Smells sour, apple vinegar, bit of oak. Pretty fluffy body. Some pretty sharp sourness at first, followed by tannins and some sharp apple. Typical Cascade acidity, lovely apple.

500 c&c from Corti Bros. Pours clear, dark orange red with a slight, transient white head. Aroma of spicy apples and slightly musty wood. Med body. Flavor is tart, slightly musty wood, spicy apples and possibly a touch of vanilla. Dry. More tart than bitter. Not at all mouth rending. Apples tend to emerge more intently in the finish, but tart and wood is ever present.

A deep copper red ale with a thin light mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, light mineral notes, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with light ground cherry, light Brett, light lactic notes, light cinnamon and nutmeg, pleasant. On tap at Lupulus.
