Bottle @ Franconia. Pours hazy pale yellow with a green hew and a good stable white head. A touch of lemon, straw, alcohol and honey dew. Dry and warming finish. Would love to drink this fresh.

Hofmann Maibock, Flasche von Hopfen & Malz im Wedding. - Satt goldgelb, klar. (21.5.2020.)

Bottle. Pale golden, offwhite head. Very grain and wet dog like aroma. medium body, mellow mouthfeel. quite catty/lightstruck on a grainy/cakelike base. Candy finish. Not sure what went wrong here .

Aroma is grainy bready with some gummy bears, starchy, tart. Taste is sweet bonbon with distilled herbs and grains. Puh. Very dusty.

Bottle. Unclear golden color with white head. Aroma is sugar icing, honey, something vegetal, strawy, a bit floral. Taste is sugar icing, honey, biscuity, cereals. Silky oily mouthfeel with natural carbonation. Not great.

(bottle) Clear, golden colour with a big and loose foamy white head. Strawy malty aroma with notes of honey, backed by floral and hay-ish hops. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium bodied with an almost crisp carbonation. Strawy malt character with notes of honey and white bread, accompanied by balanced floral hops, which are getting mildly spicy towards the rounded sweet-bitter finish. Nice one, has some drinkability, despite its high level of alcohol. 14.VI.18

Preissn-Fläschla ("NRW-Flasche"): Clear, Golden with a slight greenish sheen, small and slowly collapsing white head; moderate honeyish-grainy nose, some strawy hops in the background; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, medium to full bodied, not really soft; mildly lingering bitter-herbal and grainy finish, becomes drier towards the aftertaste. Not bad, well hidden alcohol, but all in all not the best Heller Bock...
