Think legendary. This distinct ruby beer’s sweet caramel and fruity aromas tease the taste buds. Brewed with smooth and rich chocolate and crystal malts and a blend of Fuggles and Styrian Golding hops. Expect a delicious full-bodied toffee flavour and a fruity finish of figs, raisins and dates. Drink legendary.

[50cl can from Aldi, Bracknell.] A dark amber pour with a loose white head; caramel aroma; caramel taste with an earthy bitterness; and a toffee finish. Certainly tastes watered down in comparison to the bottled version.

5.2% bottle versus 4.5% can. Watery with malty sourish hints. A bit like the 5.2% version with lots of water. Not as intense or deep as the 5.2% version. Fruity malty, caramel, not much bitterness. Very dry, easy tod rink with nice caramel in the end.

Cask at the Fox & Hounds, Sloane Square on 31st October 2018. Dark copper with virtually no head or lace. Sweet, pungent malty aroma. Sweet and malty in+mouth and a finish of malts, spices and a few berry fruits. Light bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.

Cask in the hotel bar Actually a pleasant ale, not sure it's because I spent all day in a workshop, but I truly enjoyed it.

Copper-coloured ale with a decent off-white head. Aroma: spicy, grassy, floral. Additional biscuit and caramel. Light to medium body. Taste: moderate malts initially. After that pronounced Brithish hops rule. Grassy, spicy medium bittee ending. Very convincing as a bitter.

Canned 500ml. -from Vrutak Zagreb. Nice dark amber coloured, medium sized creamy pale beige head, malty and light fruity nose. Sweet malty, caramel, slightly perfumed fruity and touch of berries with mild sweetish finish. Ok one.

Can @ Home. Pours very dark amber with a creamy light tan head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, toffee, little sweet dried fruit. Flavor is sweet, light bitter, malt, caramel, toffee, dried fruit. Thin to medium body, soft to average carbonation, sweet and light bitter finish. A little thin, but nice enough. 070318

On tap @Medina Škrinja, Varaždin. Deep ruby pour, one finger off-white head. Soapy, medium retention. Thick lacing on the glass. Nose subtly herbal, heavily malty, lots of caramel notes. Medium body, medium carbonation. Texture is a bit on the watery side. Quite sweet taste, not cloying, tho. Nicely balanced. Aroma heavy on the malt, lots of caramel and toffee, bready notes, brown sugar. Herbal aftertaste. A bit sticky. Mild hop bitterness towards the finish. Overall, well executed bitter. A bit on the sweet side but still quite nice.
