Gravity cask at the Royston, Broadstairs, 02/07/2025.
Pitch black topped with a khaki cap that thins to a spiders web and edging.
Nose is chocolate, dark malts, big liquorice vibes, mellow roast.
Taste comprises dries fruit rinds, dark malts, spice, liquorice, dates, raisins, hint of coffee.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, light drying close.
Tidy cask stout.

Cask at the Kelham Island Tavern, Sheffield on 14th February 2024. Almost impenetrably black with tan foam and spot lacing. Deep roasty malt aroma. Dark chocolate, bitter coffee and just the hint of smoke in-mouth. Roasty finish with smokiness. Full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Hazy, dark brown. Messy, bubbly, sticky, tan head. Cocoa and raisins on the nose. Some brown sugar and treacle. Grassy hop. Taste is vinous dry. Light, roast bitter. Smooth mouthfeel. A tad watery. Finishes mostly bitter, with a dry close.
