With one of northern Europe's largest barrel cellars, we have a lot to choose from. For Batten Down The Hatches, we have hand- picked and tasted our way to a full-bodied, tasty and harmonious imperial stout. Cognac and aquavit from the barrels shine through easily, and help enhance the feeling of exclusive confectionery.

Black with quick fading head. Lots of complexity with dark malts, fresh tobacco, dark chocolate, coffee. Also a sticky, boozy sweetness coming from the cognac.

From a 33 cl bottle. Pours black with a tan head. Aromas of cocoa and caramel. Flavors are a rich bittersweet chocolate. Incredibly delicious.

Bottle. Pours a jet black hue with a medium brown head. A huge nose of cognac and just dark sweet barrel. Rich, layers of chocolate, smoke, dark fruit, dusty barrel. Sweeter barrel elements. Awesome.

Bottle sample at a Yana's tasting at troubles' place. Black. Chocolate, roast, vanilla, wood, dark fruits, vinous notes, caramel, alcohol, soy sauce, very sweet, a bit umami, quite full-bodied.

33 cl bottle @ Hatanpää tasting room. Batch #45201: bottled 22.04.2021, BBE 01.03.2031 Aroma has licorice, vanilla and toasted malt. Flavour has licorice, alcohol, some sweet maltiness typical to DH beers. Strong on sweet malt and licorice, heavy stuff. Would fit well to the Dark Horizon family.

(some details got lost) Rich, malty, chocolatey; this is a wonderful Imperial Stout.

330ml @ Phill's. Appearance: brown with a beige head. Aroma: heavy barrel (kinda mix of cognac, PX, port), some dark fruits and sweetnees. Taste: along the same lines, very intense. Overall: quite unusual and interesting, despite I may not be a huge fan of the flavour profile.

330mL bottle, pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma brings out deep roasted malt, boozy cognac, and a touch of aquavit. Flavour is wonderfully complex, with deep roasted malt, lush cognac barrels, and a touch of aquavit. The roasted and cognac character work beautifully together. Lovely.

Helt svart med brunt skum. Lukter vanilje, trevirke, sjokolade, mørke stenfrukter og alkohol. Smooth i munnfølelse. Smaker nøtter, kirsebærlikør og mørk sjokolade med havsalt. Noe salt lakris I avslutningen.
