Imperial Oatmeal Stout with Coffee, Cacao, and Vanilla Aged in Bourbon Barrels
Coffee Cacao Vanilla Barrel-Aged Dark Star is a blend of 24, 18, 12, and 8-month Bourbon Barrel-Aged Dark Star in 7-12-year old Kentucky bourbon barrels. This special edition adds coffee, cacao, and vanilla with the roasted and chocolate malts to complement the smooth oats and bring you a stout delight wrapped in the gentle embrace of bourbon barrel-aged warmth. A touch of sweetness dances in balance with the hops to finish with a wave, and then she’s gone.
Down & Dirty: 2-Row Pale, Roast Barley, Crystal-60, Chocolate, and Carafa-2 malts with Flaked Oats and Columbus, Willamette, and Cascade hops with coffee, cacao, and vanilla.

Blue wax on the cap, 2021 release, brown bottle, 1 US pint and 6oz's. My Son-in-Law bought this to share (he had never had a $28:00 bottle of beer before (plus TAX)). We shared it on 20th February 2022 at his place in Laguna Hills, pouring it into those lovely tall Kasteel stemmed chalice glasses. Black and rich bodied, tanned topping. Sweet coffee aroma and taste, chocolate esters and flavours also, vanilla pod hints and plenty of bourbon booziness from start to finish. Great nightcap!

Power tasting at Ferris', bottle, vintage 2021
Black colour, creamy brown head. Aroma of cappuccino, chocolate, berries, delicate cinnamon. Very smooth, full bodied, sweet but not syrupy; dark chocolate flavour, followed by some roasted malt, coffee, cinnamon, light fruitiness; warming alcohol, but not boozy; it's a bit thiiner than expected in the finish.
Not the standard quality for Fremont, but it's still very good.

22oz (thx, Drew P.!) @ Farees'. Appearance: very dark brown with a dark beige head. Aroma: lots of coffee and chocolate with some vanilla notes. Taste: surprisingly quite carbonated, lots of coffee (no green peppers) and chocolate, vanilla, bourbon. Coffee finish. Overall: pretty good, but it lacks body as other BBA beers from the brewery have.

Jet black brown with a decent light brown head. Woody, coffee and chocolate notes. Rich chocolate, vanilla and a long finish. Well carbonated giving it a bit of bite.
