RB Odense Early Summer Fun. Copper with a lasting off-white head. Malty aroma with toffee, bread and hay. Sweet malty flavour with toffee and cocoa, and nice herbal hops

Aroma of dark caramel. Slightly sweet with a medium body and sticky mouth feel.

Bottle @ Uncle Chris’ house in Fürth. Clear reddish brown appearance with a light brown head. Rich caramel, nutty, quite toasty malty aroma. Toasty cracker, rich nutty, brown sugar, dark caramel malty flavor. Good stuff.

Bottle. Huge head with excellent duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are roast malt, caramel, malt and hops.

Säuerlich-malziger, sehr weicher Antrunk. Die Säuerlichkeit wirkt zur Beginn noch ungewohnt, mit der Zeit gewöhnt man sich jedoch daran und merkt, dass sie zum Bier passt. Das Malz ist hier zwar die Hauptnote, sie wird aber immer wieder durch die Säuerlichkeit beeinflusst. Im Verlauf wird das Bier deutlich milder, zum Ende das erste Mal bitter. Das Malz ist dabei trocken und weist Kaffeenuancen auf. Im Nachgeschmack ist das Bier stärker malzfixiert. 9/9/9/9/9/9

Cloudy mahogany with a medium beige head. Aroma had roasted malt, caramel and rye bread. Flavour had roasted malr, caramel rye bread and nuts. Finished sweet.

50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is butterish and caramelish. Solid butterish, slight metallic and dark breadish flavoured. Vague cardboardish flat malt note. Ends dry and light bitter mixed with a roasted breadish malt note.

Bottle, 5.2%. Very buttery aroma. Clear dark brown colour. Small stable off-white head. The flavour is also quite buttery, seems a bit more malty and caramelly. Not so good, though. 2 3 3 3 3

Bottle, 5.2% bought at the brewery. Vinous, roasted aroma. Beautiful clear dark chestnut colour. Very small tan head. Good roasted flavour. Mildly nutty. Very well-balanced. 7 3 7 3 17

Dark golden brown. Breadcrusty chocolate nose. Very complex toasty dark malts. The toasty palate is quite dry, but not quite as unique as the aroma suggests. Still, this is a quality dark lager.

Draught @ Brauerei Hofmann Hohenschwärz, Hohenschwärz 16, Gräfenberg-Hohenschwärz, Oberfranken/Bayern, 91322 Germany.Clear medium red brown color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, modeate nutty. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090523]
