Translated from the German as “a teller of tall tales,” Fabulant is a smooth, complex and deceptively drinkable Bavarian-style “heller weizenbock,” defined by rich flavors and aromas of banana bread, clove and caramel. Deep golden in color and punctuated by rich esters and phenols, it is malty, sweet and traditionally carbonated.

Bottle, shared by me. Pours somewhat hazy soft orange. Banana, golden raisins, doughy, estery. Medium body. A good traditional weizen. Good.

50cl bottle pours a translucent dark gold with some filmy white head. Nose is nice and puts the B in subtle, malt, some candy, esters lurk instead of clobbering, banana and chewed bubblegum mostly. Flavor has butterscotch and bananas, bananas foster really, malt, cloves. Everything meshes well. It's identifiable as a pale bock without being heavy handed. Finishes off dry with a prick of heat.
