BRYGG #1 er det første brygg fra Stjørdalsbryggeriet. Brygget var første steg på veien til å bli kjent med og lære oss bryggerikunsten i nytt og moderne brygghus. Vi har latt oss inspirere av skotsk Brown Ale, der skotsk torvrøyket malt er erstattet med Stjørdalsmalt. Ufiltrert, ikke pasteurisert.

Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 07.12.15. Pale copper. Diminishing beige head. Aroma of medium dark malt, raw malt and roasted nuts. Similar taste, balanced with moderate bitterness. Somewhat waterish and metallic.

KRS 180715. Amber colour with a beige head. Aroma is smoked, malt, hop, caramel. Flavour is smoked, coffee, malt, hop, caramel, chocolate, metallic, grain. Medium body. Ordinary beer.

Big fizzy-creamy shortlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry grainy, minerals, weeds, roasted grain, hay, burnt caramel, bark, grass. Taste is dry mineraly, weeds, minerals, paper, roasted grain, grass, burnt caramel. Little bitterness, watery and fizzy mouthfeel. Meh!

Bottle. An unclear, brown beer topped by a small, dense, beige head. Nicely roasted aroma with some sugar and chocolate. Some coffee hints. Roasted flavor with some coffee and chocolate notes, coffee hints and a touch of hoppy bitterness. Medium body and a nice carbonation. Lasting roasted finish. Too much on the sweet side this one, but sure drinkable. 150718

Pours hazy amber brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, grain, caramel and hint of smoke. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long smoked, grainy, caramel finish. Body is medium, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.

Fra flaske (brygg nr. 5) på Cardinal M2 juni-15: kobberfarget med kort skum. Torvrøkt malt er tydelig til stede i aromaen, og i litt mildere grad i smaken. Savner inntrykket av nøtter og ristet brød som jeg gjerne forbinder med en brown ale. På etiketten står det brown ale, på rb er den klassifisert som smoked - hvem har rett? Maltdrevet ettersmak.

50cl bottle (#5) from Gulating ølutsalg, Strømmen. Pours clear copper coloured with a modest, but lasting off-white head. Gentle smoky notes hits the nose, followed by hints of caramel and malt. Fairly mild aroma of smoked malt with just hints of fruits and dark berries. Moderate to medium sweet with mild, but pleasant smoky flavours and slightly herbal and bitter finish.
