On tap at the Gryphon, Bristol 1/8/2018. Dark brown in colour, with a thin, tan, head. Roasted malts, some camp coffee, slight porridge creaminess, some dark berry sweetness and a toasty finish with a hint of tanginess. Fine.

Draught @ MBCC 2018. Pours hazy dark brown with an offwhite head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, coffee, chocolate, light nuts. Flavor is sweet, malty, caramel, coffee. Medium body, average carbonation, light sweet finish. 120518

F: big, pale tanned, long lasting. C: dark brown to black, opaque. A: dark malts, caramel, bit sour fruity, dark bread, reminds me “tmavý” style from ČR. T: mellow dark malts, caramel, dark bread crust, bit roasted, medium body and carbonation, taste is better than aroma, sample from tap @ Tilquin English Beer Festival 2018.

Sample at MBCC 2018. Poured almost black with a frothy white tan head. The aroma is light roasty malt, smoke, charcoal. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter with a light roasty dry, coffee dry hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Draft sample @ Tilquin English Beerfest 2018. Brune, col beige. Arôme au nez grillé, café, léger caramel en rétro, petite touche houblonnée herbacée anglaise et léger citronné. Palais est malté, pâle, cara, note de café avec un caractère assez typique de porter anglais, amertume modérée tirant sur le Golding. Rondeur de fin de fin de bouche de l'avoine. Le fini houblonné apporte une petite note épicée et citronnée.
