In celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Sublime's release of their iconic album "40oz. to Freedom", Sublime contacted AleSmith Brewing Co. to craft this unique brew. Sublime Mexican Lager is a thirst-quenching, 5.2% ABV twist on a traditional Vienna-style lager highlighted by a grainy, malt-forward sweetness and easy drinkability. It's clean, crisp and balanced with a smooth finish. Cheers!

Reviewed from notes.
Can to lager glass.
Appearance: clear yellow color with a small cap of a little white foamy head which dissipated fairly nice but barely left any lace
Aroma: light corn malty sweetness then the lime
Flavor: lime and corn sweetness and the same in the finish
Texture: light bodied, sessionable, good smoothness
Overall: though there's not much here, it came across fairly good, I didn't see any true flaws. And this might be good on a hot Summer's day.

From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Aroma is biscuity and grainy malt, corn, and some caramel. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and bitter. Body is medium. A fine example of the style.

Super crisp and clear golden and lightly copper coloured body with a brighter orange glow and a large, four centimetre tall just off-white head that fades quickly and leaves just a thin single centimetre tall head that then stays afloat for the duration. Aroma of crisp metal, light lemons, some stone fruits and a nice and fairly deep metallic scent from the lager yeast and grainy characteristics with a crisp bite at the end. Light to barely Medium-bodied; Strong, super grainy, almost earthy and nutty maltiness comes through at first with a distinct ruggedness and rustic quality that has a bit of dirt flavours towards the finish, with a biscuity sweetness and chewy quality with some light apricots and earthiness to show off the malts - which are quite noticeable here, throughout. Aftertaste shows the grassy and dry notes with a lot of herbal qualities and perhaps not so much yeast or well-rounded notes, but the metallic twang and bitterness shows through at the end. Overall, a decent enough real lager with a distinct malt note here and some mellow sugars and grassiness that brings out some complexity, but a but further down in the chain. Decent, but I expected better from AleSmith! I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Wegman's [grocery] in Gainesville (Lake Manassas), Virginia on 16-May-2021 as part of a mixed six pack for US$1,99 sampled at my house here in Washington on 22-February-2022.

Hey it's a slightly sweet adjunct lager. There's nothing to like about it.

First impression, love the can, hope the beer is good. I am a fan of Sublime from the day, 40 Oz To Freedom of course. I'll open the 12 oz can and keep a lime slice nearby. First taste, pretty doggone good for a simple lager, straightforward grain, lemon and orange, water and field. Add the lime now, more of the same with lime this time. I approve. This will be great in the summer if I see it again.

12 oz. A little over six months old. Malty floral nose. Pours dark hazy golden with a thin collapsing head; no foam whatsoever after a couple minutes. Taste is moderately sweet with pretty much zero bitterness; finishes pretty dry, though. As bad as most international macros, unfortunately.
