At the 2017 Beer Geek Madness in Wrocław, Poland, Deer Bear won best beer. One of the things they got winning was to come and brew a collaboration beer with us here at Dugges. This is that beer. Trophy!
Late 2016 we got an e-mail asking if we wanted to be a part of the Beer Geek Madness festival in Wrocław, Poland. Naturally, we said yes. Late March we flew down, landed in Swedish mid July weather and got to experience one of the wildest beer fests ever. Imagine having a brainstorming meeting about what you wanted to do while arranging a beer festival, then doing everything you come up with. That’s what it was like. And, in the midst of it all there was a peoples choice competition for best beer by a Polish (exhibiting) brewery. Deer Bear won with a spiced Gose, and the price? Well, to brew with us. We took the spices and added them to a stout instead. Big!

Bottle from Systembolaget. Black with a small tan head. Sweet with spices, dark malt, chocolate and alcohol. Not bad but far from the best one from Dugges.

Tap @MBCC2018, Red Session. Black, beige head. Woody, malty aroma, plums perhaps. Sweet flavour, sherry, plum-y fruity bitterness. Weird.

Tap. Black color with beige head. Aroma is plum, cinnamon, other spices, chocolate, light petrol. Taste is the same. Oily mouthfeel with low carbonation. Ok.

Sample at MBCC 2018. Poured aalmost black with a thin broken tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, liqouirce, plum, boozy alcohol. The flavour is moderate sweet with a smooth, dry roasty, big tart fruity plum, warm alcohol palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Flaska från SB. Svart vätska med vissa kolabruna nyanser i kanterna. Någonstans mellan söt och torr/rökig ton i doften med katrinplommon och kryddiga och mustiga inslag av kanel och muskot. Något större kropp. I smaken ungefär samma men här kommer även ingefäran och grönpepparn fram. Längst fram i smakbilden hamnad dock muskoten, och tillsammans med det andra blir det en ganska mastig och udda mix. Viss rökighet finns även med i mixen. Tycker det blir lite för mycket till slut och inget man vill dricka mycket utav. Mnja, ingen höjdare i min bok tyvärr.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Black with small beige head. Aroma of cinnamon, raisins and slivovic. Sweet with full body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Salty licorice, slivovic and cinnamon. Salty boozy finish. Raw, overspiced and seriously boozy.

Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of spices, roasted malt, chocolate, red fruit, licorice and cinnamon. Taste has chocolate, nutmeg, roasted malt, plum, booze, licorice, cinnamon, some coffee and a soy sauce. Nice flavorful stout.

Fat Chapter Växjö. Doftar lite vinöst. I munnen mjuk extremt fyllig smak av plommon och jordkällare. Rätt torr avslutning . Överraskande fin ju. Kvalité
