今年の秋の気まぐれは、モルトとホップの調和をテーマにしています。マリスオッターとミュニックのベースモルトは豊かに感じられる味わいの土台になっていますが、あくまで主役はクリスタルモルトです。クリスタルモルトは美しい赤い色合いとダークフルーツやキャラメルのような深い味わいを与えてくれます。さらに、少し加えたクリスタル”ライ”モルトは深い赤色を強調し、香ばしくスパイシーな印象を与えてくれます。

松のようなニュアンスを含んだ強い柑橘の香り、そしてほどよい苦みはChinookとIdaho7というホップの特徴です。また、Simcoeのベリーのような果実味とMosaic Cryoの甘く熟れた果実のような特徴が際立っています。

これらのホップと深い味わいのモルトがうまく調和し、どちらか一方が目立ちすぎることなく、時間とともに味わいが変化してゆく。まるで、秋の醍醐味である季節の移ろいを感じられるかのような味わいの秋の気まぐれをぜひご賞味ください。

For this year’s Aki no Kimagure, we really wanted to achieve a marriage of malt and hop character that was both complementary and distinct. Base malts of Maris Otter and Munich provide a rich and full background character, but it is really the crystal malt that takes center stage, creating a beautiful red hue and flavors of dark fruit and caramel. A small addition of a rye crystal malt further accentuates the deep red color while also adding a background hint of toasted spices. 

Chinook and Idaho 7 hops for flavor add a strong citrus character with hints of pine and give the beer a firm bitterness. The aroma is dominated by a combination of the almost berry-like fruitiness of Simcoe and the sweet ripe fruit character of Mosaic Cryo. Together, the malt and the hops combine to create a multi-level flavor experience that isn’t too hoppy nor too malty and seems to show different sides of itself over time. We think this year’s Aki no Kimagure really welcomes the season right!
