Flaska från Mikkeller bottleshop, vintage 2018. Murken kopparbrun med liten tillstymmelse till smutsbeige krona. Massor av fruktkaka, varma och mjuka russin i överflöd, marsipan, torkad frukt, fikon, fikonkaka, bourbon, lätt oxidering, vetelängd med russin i. Stor, kletig kropp. Låg kolsyra. Sötman är nästan i överkant, med russinsötma som dominerar. Hade velat ha lite större alkoholhalt eller hetta från faten för att väga upp, eller kanske en gnutta mer kolsyra. Men gott så det förslår är det. En riktigt dekadent barleywine helt av den brittiska skolan.

Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, alcohol and dried fruits. Taste is heavy sweet and light to medium bitter with a long warm, dried fruity, cocoa and caramel finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Draught @ MBCC'18 [ Red Session ]. - Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2018, Øksnehallen, Halmtorvet 11, 1700 København V, Danmark. [ As 3 Sons Big Sxxxy ].Unclear medium to dark brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, dried fruit, alcohol, oak, port - bourbon. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, alcohol, port - bourbon, oak - barrel, caramel, dried fruit. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Tap@MBCC 2018 Red Session, Copenhagen (again massive thanks to Daniel for acquisition) - dark amber to brown coloured pour with beige head. Medium sweet and toasted malty, caramel, toffee, charred brown sugar, dried fruity and nutty, full bodied, lovely bourbon and spiced warming malty finish.

MBCC 2018. Red. Pedal to the Metal session. Keg. Clear deep amber beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate with a light trailing crispness. Sweet malts, light and with a good degree of fruity toffee. Some cognac and vanilla before the light finish. Delicious barleywine.

Keg at MBCC 2018 Red (session Trois), 11/05/18 - big thanks to Daniel for grabbing this one! Extremely dark mahogany brown with a decent light tan covering. Nose is sweet dark fruits, light vinous notes, toffee fudge, caramel. Taste comprises stewed fruits, stoned fruits, caramel melt, brown dugar, sticky toffee pudding, subtle bourbon rise. Full bodied, fine carbonation, balanced warming alcohol in the close. Top notch barley wine.
